What does First Contentful Paint (FCP) mean?
Google measures your FCP to track how quickly content begins appearing on your Webpages. When visitors land on your site, it is very important for them to see the site loading as soon as possible. Google ranks FCP performance in the following classes:
0 - 1.9 seconds
Fast
2.0 - 4.0 seconds
Moderate
> 4.0 seconds
Slow
Poor hosting providers or a poorly configured Website (or plugins) will result in your visitors waiting on a blank screen to start loading. While Google recommends that FCP be less than 2 seconds, most visitors won’t wait more than 3 seconds for your site to start loading. We often encounter sites with long FCP times. With a few simple adjustments and our state-of-the-art hosting platform, we can get your site loading faster so you’ll get more visitors converting into customers.
